Google and Dish are exploring wireless partnership to have wireless service. Google and Dish are doing this so they can compete against other new wireless service like AT&T and Verizon. This partnership might lead to nowhere according to Journal. Dish has also been wanting to build a mobile phone and internet service but with a partner. The chair man of Dish said that there are many companies out there that don't have a wireless business but would like to be in it. Ergen, the chair man of dish, also says it would be a lot easier for dish to accomplish their goal. Google on the other hand has already started to expand into Internet delivery to personal computers and mobile devices. They have also begun to install fiber-optic cable to houses in Kansas City. Google has an ultra highspeed internet and video delivery that can already compete with Time Warner Cable and Dish. Google feels that faster internet at homes and on phones will make people search more things.
I feel that this article is important because it talks about two big companies working together to make a wireless service. Wireless service is going to be our future. So its a good thing that companies are working together to make this. This article impacts me as a student because it tells me that the futuristic gadgets will be coming sooner then we think. Once you know it, all the cable boxes will be wireless. The article impacts me as a future film maker because it informs me that I can work with other big companies to make a project and that Google is a good company to work with. The article impacts me as a consumer because it tells me that I can get a wireless cable box soon. It also tells me that Google is planning on making internet faster for phones and homes. Will Google and Dish accomplish on making a wireless service? Will Time Warner work with a company to do this as well? How will Verizon and AT&T react to this?
